What's on my Ipod

Today I am sharing my top songs that I have been becoming addicted to listening to at the moment. If you are interested keep on reading!

Brandon Flowers- Lonely Town
I have always been a massive fan of the 80's, especially the music, nothing is quite like it. It is always hard to discover new music with that retro feel. However, Brandon Flowers the front man of The Killers had brought out another great hit on his latest solo album. Lonely Town is one of three tracks released from the Album The Desired Effect, which is expected to be released on the 18th May.

I love the 80s vibe of the synth pop track, backed up with a retro video with a girl dancing at home alone to her Walkman and a disco light.  We then discover that she isn't alone. The video ends with a view from the outside looking in and the realisation that we are looking from the perspective of someone watching her dance. Creepy!

Mumford & Sons- Believe
I was pleasantly surprised to hear that Mumford & Sons change in sound. When I think of Mumford & Sons I always think of a band with a Banjo however, this track has a refreshing new sound with electric guitar and synthetic elements which give the track a rich and powerful feel. I have not yet listened to the rest of the album, but so far I am very impressed.

Sia- Big Girls Cry
I love the tones of Sia's voice and Maddie Ziegler who I think is a very talented Dancer and Actress for a 12 year old. Her singing and choreography might not be everyone's cup of tea but her music and her videos are beautifully put together.

HAIM- Forever
The video for this song is not the greatest, however I adore their retro style and sound to their tracks. They have been compared to fleetwood Mac, Long live the 80s!

Hurts- Mother Nature
What Can I say about Hurts... I don't think any other band has come as close to how much I absolutely love their music. My first encounter of their music was on YouTube, the original 'Wonderful Life' video. Don't get me wrong the original video was not great, but as soon as I heard the synths and haunting vocals, that was it. I was hooked. Hurts very much remind me of Depeche Mode, another one of my favourite bands. I am so glad I come across this band. It would great to see them Live.

Chromeo- Old 45s

This track is for the leather pants wearers, bum wigglers and 80's lovers. I have not come across another band that comes close to this sound, as soon as you hear it, you just know its Chromeo. They have a distinctive sound. Elecro-funk I think is the technical term for their genre of their music. I can also sense some influence from Daft Punk and Michael Jackson in some of their tracks. When watching the video for this track I noticed HAIM in the video, I am not sure if they had any musical input into the track however I love it! I also only just noticed that Jon Heder is in the end of the video.

Empire of the Sun- Alive
I just love it, simples
