Blogging tips

Today I am sharing some tips I use for editing my blog and instagram photographs.

Instagram is a great photo sharing tool, I love looking through other peoples photographs, you could say I am an addict... I have always had a passion for photography so ensuring that my photographs look to their best is very important.

Firstly you can get free apps that are very useful, so you don't have to use costly editing software. You can always use the standard editor on your phone or tablet. My biggest tip would be try out various ones, experiment with your photographs until you get the desired effect.

#Photoshop Express for instance If you fancy a change from the standard filters of Instagram there are plenty to choose from. Some are locked as in app purchases, but there is still plenty of filters to play with without spending your pennies. You can crop, make your photos sharper, change contrast, shadows ,temperature of the image as well as red eye correction, remove blemishes and add frames.

#My personal favorite is Afterlight, I don't think it is available on the Android platform but you can get it on your iphone or ipod. Just editing the brightness of the my images using this app has made such a difference to the end result of my photographs. Changing the images exposure is another setting that I love to change to my images. I have used many apps but changing the brightness and exposure on other apps just doesn't have the same effect.  You can see the results of my edit using Afterlight before uploading to Instagram.

When it comes to editing photographs on my blog I like to keep it simple, the software I use is Photoshop. There are other editing suites on the market but I have always used Photoshop. You can simply increase the brightness of your image is a little dark or you can use the auto settings if you don't know how to make adjustments to your photograph in Photoshop.

I like to use these simple settings on my blog photos as I like to keep them as close to the original shot as possible.  I do advise getting to know your software. Experiment and play around with the settings. If you get stuck with a look your trying to achieve, I always Google and YouTube to watch tutorials especially if you would like to manipulate your photographs further.
