Have yourself a stress free Christmas! Blogmas Day 2

Hello!

Today I am going to be talking about the Christmas rush and how to have a stressless less stressful Christmas. Picking presents, fitting in visits to see family and friends, can be quite a task never mind working over the Christmas period. I have got to say when it comes to gift buying, I like to be organised. The key is to research and plan what you are going to get everyone, so when it comes to the crunch you can hit the shops, know exactly what you are going for and in my opinion get the hell out of there!

Don't get me wrong Christmas is my favourite time of year, I love everything about it except for the actual going out and getting gifts for people, I love buying people gifts but not the aching feet and blistering hands of carrying as much as possible before you head back to the car. You know what I mean, you have about 5 million layers on and carrying about 10 million bags.. slight exaggeration of course.. so many shops you wanna get to, and your pouring with sweat because lets face it shopping is exhausting and all you wanna do if grab a drink to go because your mouth is dry and you feel like you have climbed Mount Everest but you wanna carry on, because you are on a mission to get everything you set out for in one sweep.. But of course, that never works out. Not for me anyhow. Even being organised when it comes to planning the festivities can be stressful, so here are some tips for keeping your cool and relaxed over this busy period.

Don't over think- Plan your days and the gifts you would like to get people in little chunks, spending long periods of time on this will only make you more stressed and anxious.

Watch a Movie-  We are all guilty of over thinking and getting stressed, sometimes it.s nice just to sit down and get cuddled up with a blanket and watch a movie, especially at this time of the year there are lots Christmas films on the box!

Turn off Devices- Looking through our social media feeds to see what everyone else is doing this Christmas season is enough to make you anxious, especially if you're not ready for it. I like to take a break from devices from time to time and just read a book, it's a great way of switching off and having some you time.

Pamper yourself- Nothing says me time like a nice facemask and a hot bubble bath with your favourite festive bath treats.

Stay organised but give yourself reachable targets- There is no point beating yourself up because you haven't got sorted when it comes to gift buying, decorating, baking and organising get-togethers. Give yourself reachable targets for each day up till Christmas, instead of overloading yourself with tasks you just can't fit into 24hours or even a week! Plan ahead, get ideas for gifts in catalogues and look online at retailers, I like to write a list of who I need to get gifts for and gifts I have found online and where from. When it comes to gift buying I don't always like to buy online, so having a list of things I have seen online when hitting the shops is very handy. Also another tip! Once I have bought gifts, before I wrap them I take a photo on my phone of what I have got people so far, so I know for sure I haven't forgot anything and they get stored to my cloud storage, which is handy for the year after. Nobody wants to give similar gifts to someone year in year out!

Do you have any tips on how you keep stress free at this time of the year?
