Herbal Teas- Discovering My Favourites

I have fond memories of having Tea parties at my Great Grandma & Grandad's house. My Great Grandma or Nanny Kit as I called her, would often make me a cup of Tea in a small china cup with about 2 sugars in. I felt like Alice in Wonderland, sat at the tiled table my Great Grandad had made, sipping Tea from a china cup and saucer.

Since then I have always enjoyed a cup of tea, it is something that will always remind me of my Grandma. Over the last couple of years, I have been experimenting with various different types of Tea, mostly Herbal Teas. I will always love a traditional cuppa but some Teas have great benefits for your body and don't taste too bad. Don't get me wrong there has been plenty of Tea's which I have had a few sips of and couldn't stand to drink anymore, but I think I have now cracked it. I think that it is important to do your research into the benefits of variants of Teas, as they can help with various things from Boosting concentration and Memory, to calming and calorie burning abilities by increasing your bodies metabolism.

My Top 3

Pukka- Supreme Matcha Green

I have tried many green teas, in essence, they are pretty similar, however, Matcha Green Tea is apparently much better for you than the average cup of Green Tea. To gain the same benefits of one cup of Matcha Tea you would need to drink 10-15 cups of Green Tea apparently. I tend to have one cup of this Tea a day, rather than reaching for a coffee or a Yorkshire Tea, which when not drinking herbal Teas  I tend to have 2 teaspoons of sugar added...

Clipper - Snore & Peace Infusion

You could say that I was sceptical about what this Tea could achieve, however, I was pleasantly surprised with its effects. I mean who would think herbal tea could have any effect, unwinding for the night or even drift off to a natural sleep? I'm sure its effects will vary on everyone differently but it definitely helps me wind down, don't get me wrong when I wanna sleep I will, but I just feel more relaxed and calm before going to bed after having a cup of this Tea. Maybe it's some kind of placebo effect, who knows but it certainly has an effect on me. Surprisingly the Chamomile, lemon balm, and Lavender taste haven't put me off drinking it, the taste can be quite drying on the mouth... Maybe this doesn't make sense but it does in my mind...  Anyhow... for me it's like a night detox, after taking off all my makeup off and letting my hair down drinking this tea, to me is like helping all the impurities in my body, and to top off the evening, I tend to meditate after drinking my tea.

Aldi's Uplifting Lemon & Ginger Tea

I'm sure that branded Lemon & Ginger Tea is just as good as this, but this is very cheap and tastes great. I probably drink this more over the other two because  I love the zest and sharp taste of the Ginger, Yet refreshing due to its lightness. I find the other two have quite heavy tastes in comparison to this. If that makes sense?
Lemon & Ginger tea has many health benefits such as boosting your Immune system due to the level of antioxidants and Vitamin C (which has many benefits also), can relieve Nausea and Indigestion, help your skin & hair be its best, aid weight loss and much more.
The Tea Bags aren't individually wrapped which can be annoying if you want to take a couple of bags on your travels, although I just put a couple in a resealable sandwich bag. If you try this Tea, I do suggest not leaving the bag in for too long, otherwise, the Ginger will power the Lemon taste. I can imagine that this will be one of my favourite teas this Autumn and winter, as well as spiced apple and cinnamon tea which always gets me into the festive mood. Although I'm all hyped up for Christmas already, are you? Also, do you have any favourite Teas?
